MedSelect Inc. to Hold 2003 MAC Conference

Cranberry Township, PA. (Feb. 10, 2003)--MED:  By popular consensus once again, Pittsburgh was chosen to host the 2003 MAC Users Group Annual Meeting from Thursday, February 27th to Saturday, March 1st. Also, based on feedback from last year attendees, it was decided not to keep the MAC Users Group Attendees isolated in the suburbs, but closer to the beautiful downtown area. So it shall be! The Sheraton Station Square Hotel, located on the waterfront across from downtown Pittsburgh will entertain the Mac Users Group come this February and the mood will be one of Mardi Gras.

The Sheraton Hotel is located in an area along the southern bank of the Monongahela River next to the Smithfield Street Bridge . This area used to be the main passenger train station for the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Company - hence the name Station Square . The actual ticket counter area with its marble walls and stained glass windows is now an elegant restaurant called The Grand Concourse. The large railroad car barn, once used to repair boxcars, has been converted to a Shopping Mall with a collection of various boutiques and entertainment places. Outside the mall there are magnificent views of the Pittsburgh Skyline. Station Square is home to Pittsburgh ’s fleet of paddle-wheel boats that regularly cruise its three rivers. More recent additions to Station Square are the Pittsburgh Hard Rock Café and Bessemer Court , an open air courtyard tribute to the city’s steel making history. There in the courtyard, water fountains dance to various styles of music from hard rock to classical. A short walk across the street can take you to Pittsburgh’s subway know as the “T” and to the downtown areas on the opposite bank of the river, or to one of the oldest operating incline trams in the country that can take you up the steep vertical climb to the top of Mount Washington for a spectacular view of the city below.

The MAC Users Group Meeting promises to be a successful event again this year. It’s an opportunity to meet and chat with MedSelect’s Engineering and Support staff. It’s also an opportunity to learn more about using your system from other MAC Users as well from the information packed sessions that are planned. The meeting will include forums for users to provide input regarding new product development, panel discussions focusing on today’s problems in providing automated dispensing and patient care, introductions to some of the new enhancements planned for the next generation system, and advanced training sessions for Examiner and Centrack.
